Guitarrista, vocalista, compositor, arreglista y director Luis Mario Ochoa, nacido en Cuba y radicado en Toronto Canada y Miami, Estados Unidos, lanz\u00f3 su quinto album titulado Forever Lecuona (Para Siempre Lecuona) el 6 de Abril de 2022. Como tributo al internacionalmente reconocido Ernesto Lecuona – conocido como el Gershwin de Cuba- el album presenta diez de las m\u00e1s legendarias y apreciadas composiciones del compositor, presentadas al estilo de un recital de concierto. Luis Mario Ochoa<\/b>, the Cuban-born, Toronto and Miami based musician, released his fifth album Forever Lecuona<\/i><\/b>, on April 6, 2022. A tribute to world renowned Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona \u2013 known as the Gershwin of Cuba \u2013 the album features ten of some of the legendary artist\u2019s most beloved compositions, presented in a concert style recital program.<\/span><\/p>\n

As the primary force behind the emergence of Cuban music around the world in the early 20th century, Lecuona\u2019s compositions encapsulated the spirit of Cuban, African and Spanish influences producing a library of music across multiple genres including popular songs, piano solo compositions, as well as music for theater, ballet and opera. With a vast selection of music to choose from, he wanted to mirror Lecuona\u2019s ample array of styles, by featuring his tropical songs, congas, boleros, criollas, Afro Cuban dances and a Sevillana flavored song.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un m\u00fasico multifac\u00e9tico, Luis Mario emigr\u00f3 de Cuban a Toronto en 1990, tres a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de recibir su licenciatura en m\u00fasica especializado en guitarra cl\u00e1sica, del Instituto Superior de Artes de la universidad de La Habana. Una vez en Canad\u00e1, Ochoa expandi\u00f3 su carrera musical como guitarrista, vocalista, compositor, arreglista y director. Su primer album A La Cubana (1995) fue uno de las primeras grabaciones latinas en Canada y la primera de un artista cubano. A La Cubana (1995) <\/i><\/b>(1995) was among the first Latin recordings to be released in Canada and the first from a Cuban born musician. Luis Mario also was a Latin Bigband teacher for 10 years at Toronto\u2019s reknown Humber College of Jazz during 2003 and 2013. Luis Mario has recorded and performed many times with Latin jazz luminaries such as multi-Grammy\u00ae award-winner Paquito D\u2019Rivera and multi-Juno\u00ae awarded Hilario Dur\u00e1n.<\/span><\/p>\n
